Consumption Based model
Learn about Digibee’s licensing model based on consumption.
This documentation is exclusive to customers using the Consumption-Based Model and may not be applicable to your realm.
Overview
The Consumption based is a licensing model of the Digibee Integration Platform in which pricing is based on the consumption of metrics related to the pipeline executions, GB-s, and egress traffic.
How does it work?
You purchase credits according to your needs and each metric consumes a different amount of credits during the committed contracted period of time. You will be able to track your credit usage within the Platform to effectively monitor and manage the use and consumption.
Consumption is valid for all environments.
Understanding the Consumption metrics
GB-Seconds (gigabytes.seconds or GB-s): Represents the lifespan of a pipeline instance (replicas) multiplied by its memory size in GB. For example:
Small: 0,0625 GB | 64 MB | 10 threads | 20% CPU
Medium: 0,125 GB | 128 MB | 20 threads | 40% CPU
Large: 0,25 GB | 256 MB | 40 threads | 80% CPU
Number of pipeline executions: Represents the total number of executions of a pipeline.
Number of Egress Traffic bytes: Represents all data traffic that leaves the Digibee Integration Platform, whether to the public internet, to another cloud, or to a local network.
Egress Traffic will not be charged until September 1, 2025.
Calculation used in the Consumption based model
Check out the example below to understand how the Consumption based model billing calculations work.
Example: 1,000 executions in 1 small pipeline replica running for 1 hour, consuming 1GB of egress traffic.
GB-s: 0.0625 GB * 3600s = 225 GB-s * 0.0008 = $ 0.18
Executions: 1,000 * 0.000008 = $0.008
Egress Traffic: 1GB * 0.50 = $0.50
Total = GB-s + Executions + Egress Traffic = $ 0.688
Overage
If you use more credits than you initially purchased in your commit, your pipelines will continue to execute, but with an overage rate card for all consumption metrics.
Monthly Report
Monthly, you will receive an email with two reports related to your consumption: a credit report and monthly period consumption report. This way, you can manage your consumption to optimize your pipelines or buy more credits before getting charged with overage.
Consumption based model on the Platform
How to access your data
Click on Settings in the upper right corner on the Platform home page.
In the Licensing menu, click Consumption.
You will see a page with your complete consumption information.
Data charts
On the Digibee Integration Platform, the following charts show the amount spent per month on the individual metrics in relation to the total credits purchased. These charts are updated daily so you can have full control over your credit’s usage.
License consumption data
Credits granted: Total of credits granted to the given period. If the consumption reaches this value, overages will be charged.
Credits history: The information about credits includes the credit name, status, start date, expiration date, priority, and grant amount. This category may include the credits purchased by the consumer and bonus or discount credits given by Digibee (Incentive credits).
Total spent: The total of credits consumed so far.
Overage: Total overage value based on your consumption limit.
Standard: The total amount spent to date, excluding overage fees.
Credits available: The amount of credits left for consumption (Total spent - Credits granted).
Consumption metrics
Total consumption per environment: The total amount of credits consumed in each one of your environments.
Total consumption per metric: The amount consumed for each metric in the Consumption based model over the specified time period.
Month on month chart
This chart shows the cumulative amount of consumption per environment in each month over a 12-month (365-day) period. By hovering over each bar on the graph, you can see the exact cumulative amount that was spent per environment up to that month.
Consumption details
In this section it’s possible to see the consumption for each project and the consumption for each pipeline in a project in different screens. You can filter by one or more projects/pipelines to make your search easier and faster.
Projects screen: Shows the total consumption of all projects, including the number of pipelines, the consumption in each environment, and the Details icon with further information.
Pipeline screen: When you click on the Details icon in a project row, a side sheet will be displayed showing the consumption of each pipeline in a project.
Consumption reports
You can download your consumption reports in CSV format directly from the Digibee Integration Platform. These are the 3 types of consumption reports available:
Credits
This report provides a summary of all credits and their usage throughout the entire contract period up to the date the report is generated. The credits report is updated daily and each row refers to the daily total consumption.
Consumption details by project
This report provides a detailed view by project or across all projects. You can download the report to display the entire time period or apply a From/To filter to focus on a specific usage period. Each row in the report represents the total consumption of each pipeline within the project for the given period.
Detailed report
The Detailed report filter allows you to export a detailed consumption report without separating it by project. When the filter is activated, the user can select a specific period or select All periods to include all data from the consumption period.
In this way, it is possible to generate a single consolidated report that has the same level of detail as the individual reports but covers the entire environment. This is recommended if you want to analyze consumption only for specific projects.
In other words, while the Detailed Report filter allows you to download a single report for all projects, Pipelines inside a project filter focuses on the detailed analysis of a single project, so the user must access each project individually.
Pipelines inside a project
This report can be accessed by clicking the Details icon in the Projects table. Each row in the report provides daily usage details by pipeline, offering a more granular view.
